Sealed-edge bags are extremely versatile packaging solutions that are widely used in various industries thanks to their high puncture resistance and good oxygen and moisture barrier properties. Their applications range from the food industry to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. These bags are characterised by their double-sided sealed edge, which ensures a secure and permanent seal of the selected material without the need for an additional closure mechanism.
Sealed edge bags: structure and properties
The structure of a sealed-edge bag usually consists of several layers of high-quality materials such as PE, PET, aluminium or natural paper, which provide an optimal barrier against moisture, oxygen and other external influences. These multi-layer material composites not only ensure a high level of product protection, but also support a long shelf life of up to 24 months for the packaged products. This is achieved, for example, with barrier layers made from aluminium, EVOH or AlOx.
In addition, sealed-edge bags can be configured with various optional features, including a tear tab, press seal, Euro hole for easy retail presentation and multi-colour printing for attractive product presentation. Alternatively, labelling the sealed-edge bags allows easy product identification and strengthens branding for manufacturers and retailers. Printed labels are also available in our shop.
